This page describes the filetypes that LeiaCam captures.
JPEG: All images captured in LeiaCam are both 3D and 2D and saved in the Leia Image Format with the file extension .jpeg at the end of the filename.
What is Leia Image Format? Leia Image Format (a.k.a. LIF) is a JPEG picture that is encoded with extra information making the image viewable as a 3D image. Leia devices will automatically identify LIF files as a 3D image and display them in 3D view mode. Leia Image Format is fully backwards compatible as a 2D image on all non-Leia devices. If you send or upload a LIF through a platform that compresses images, depth information may be lost.
MP4: All videos captured in LeiaCam are both 3D and 2D and saved in the Leia Video Format with the file extension .mp4 at the end of the filename.
What is Leia Video Format: Leia Video Format (a.k.a. LVF) is an MP4 video that is encoded with extra information making the video viewable as a 3D video. Leia devices will automatically identify LVF files as a 3D video and display them in 3D view mode. Leia Video Format is fully backwards compatible as a 2D video on all non-Leia devices. If you send or upload an LVF through a platform that compresses video, depth information may be lost.
