What is Lume Pad 2?

Lume Pad 2 is the ultimate 3D tablet. A crisp, comfortable 12.4-inch 3D display offering a no-compromise experience for the Android apps you know and love as well as a suite of apps that you can see in eyewear-free 3D.

Anatomy of the Lume Pad 2

The Lume Pad 2 is a high-quality Android tablet with a chassis made of anodized aluminum. On the back of the device, you'll find the Leia branding and the high-resolution 3D camera.

On the front of the device, you'll find the front-facing 3D camera, ambient light sensor, and of course, the 3D display.

On the top of the device, you'll find the volume rocker and the MicroSD card slot. You'll see the four 3D spatial audio speakers on both the left and the right of the device, and on the right side of the device, you'll find the USB-C charging port. On the bottom of the device, you'll find the magnetic Lume Connector, to wirelessly charge your Lume Pad 2 with a Lume Stand.

It all starts with the 3D screen

At Leia, we’ve developed a single optical layer sculpted by nanotechnology that sits just underneath the LCD display to create the 3D effect, powered by what we call Diffractive Lightfield Backlighting (DLB).

With 2D content, the Lume Pad 2’s 12.4-inch screen projects out a bright 2560x1600 picture. When used for traditional Android apps, that 16:10 screen looks bright, sharp, and exactly like other high-end Android tablets.

But when the DLB is activated, lights pass through it to create a dynamic 3D effect. The light projects out eight views simultaneously, guided by face-tracking -- this is Lume Pad's 3D view mode. An incredibly crisp 3D image with an ultra-wide viewing angle. Unlike other 3D solutions, Lume Pad 2 is brighter, thinner, and can instantly switch between full-quality 2D and 3D.

Leia Appstore is your one-stop shop for downloading all the 3D apps for Lume Pad. The Leia Appstore has many 3D apps and games, with more launching every month.

Leia Account is a unified account system used throughout the Lume Pad experience.

LeiaCam takes 3D photos and videos at the press of a button. Photos are saved in Leia Image Format (LIF), which looks like a normal 2D JPEG image on most devices but are displayed in high-quality 3D on Lume Pad, where they can be easily edited and viewed. Videos are saved in the Leia Video Format (LVF), which looks like a normal 2D MP4 video on most devices but can be viewed in native 3D on Lume Pad.

LeiaPlayer is your Swiss army knife for playing back 3D media. We call it LeiaPlayer, but really, this app does a whole lot more than simply play your 3D images and videos.
